Our Business Litigation and Transactions Law Firm has an immediate full-time opportunity for a conscientious Paralegal with experience in Commercial, Construction, and Corporate Law. We would prefer that you have experience in Commercial Litigation, but we are willing to train you on the specifics of the job if you are a quick learner who has strong transferrable skills. If you are bi-lingual and can speak and write English and Spanish, then you already have an advantage.
Your basic responsibilities:
Watch the Case Management

- Discuss initial case assessment with assigned Attorney
- Ensure calendar deadlines and case milestones are added to the Firm’s Master Calendar in the Case Management System and the Firm’s Transactional Board ensure no deadlines are missed and cases move forward
- Identify and resolve calendar scheduling conflicts
- Review upcoming daily, weekly, and monthly appointments, court appearances and tasks to prioritize workload
- Triage client communications to follow up via phone and email as required
- Maintain accurate client records in the Case Management System (CMS) and in Clio Connect
- Maintain physical and electronic client case files
Perform Case Work
- Investigate parties for asset and lawsuits affecting transaction
- Create and draft transaction checklists, term sheets, and other communications of intention to enter into transaction
- Create and draft appendices, briefs, indexes of property being purchased or sold
- Create and draft contracts for purchase or sale of corporate assets or shares of corporations
- Create and draft contracts for purchase or sale of real estate assets
- Establish a chronology of conditions precedent such as delivery of surveys, appraisals, title, liens, lis pendens, or any other document affecting the real estate asset
- Moving cases forward by maintaining client files and timely review of records and bills
- Review accounting records
